Our facility is designed to provide welders with the ideal environment for certification. We offer 46 fully equipped, well-lit welding booths, each spacious and optimized for efficiency. In addition, we have covered outdoor testing areas specifically designed for API 1104 pipeline testing, ensuring welders can test under industry-specific conditions. Each booth is set up to allow welders to focus on their craft without distractions, providing a professional setting for accurate and efficient testing.
Our testing process is overseen by a team of AWS Certified Welding Inspectors (CWIs), ensuring that all tests meet the strictest compliance standards. In January of 1997, Glenn Peloquin acquired Welder Testing Inc., bringing with him a wealth of industry expertise. With welder qualification testing experience dating back to the early 1970s, Glenn was among the first individuals to earn AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification, having taken the inaugural AWS CWI exam when the certification program was introduced.
To accommodate growing demand and enhance testing capabilities, WTI relocated to a larger, state-of-the-art facility in Deer Park, Texas. This strategic move enabled the company to improve efficiency, expand its service offerings, and better serve clients across multiple industries.
WTI broadened its range of welding qualification and procedure testing services, incorporating advanced testing methods to meet the evolving needs of industries such as oil & gas, petrochemical, shipbuilding, and power generation.
To further enhance its testing capabilities, WTI introduced a dedicated metallurgical testing lab, hiring a specialized lab manager to oversee material analysis. Additionally, the company added a new facility housing a machine shop, streamlining the preparation of test samples and reinforcing WTI’s commitment to precision and efficiency.
WTI earned recognition as an AWS Accredited Test Facility, solidifying its reputation as a trusted and highly qualified provider of welder qualification and procedure testing services. This accreditation validated WTI’s adherence to the highest industry standards for welding inspections and certifications.

As a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI), Sam brings a hands-on, technically grounded approach to leadership. His extensive background in welding inspection, shop operations, and quality assurance gives him a thorough understanding of every facet of the business — from daily facility management to regulatory compliance and customer experience.

Glenn Peloquin has been a leader in welder testing and training since 1970, bringing over five decades of expertise to the industry. In January 1997, he acquired Welder Testing Inc. and served as its President, establishing the company as a trusted provider of welder qualification testing in the Greater Houston area. He later continued in a leadership capacity as Vice President and now Director.
Glenn’s lifelong dedication to the craft and his commitment to the highest standards in welder certification and training remain at the core of everything Welder Testing Inc. stands for. His unparalleled experience continues to be a guiding force for the company and a valuable resource for the welders and customers it serves.
David Peloquin is the former President of Welder Testing Inc., bringing over 30 years of experience in weld inspection and quality assurance. His career began in the early 1990s in field inspection work, where he developed a strong foundation in industry standards and compliance. After leading Welder Testing Inc. as President, David has transitioned into a WPS/PQR Technical Consultant role, where his expertise and guidance continue to be an integral part of the company’s operations.
David has been a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) for over 20 years and also holds an API 510 certification as a pressure vessel inspector — a credential rooted in his extensive field inspection background. In his consulting role, David continues to lend his deep technical expertise in Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and Procedure Qualification Records (PQR), supporting the company’s commitment to precision, compliance, and excellence.
His decades of leadership and technical knowledge remain a valued asset to Welder Testing Inc. and to the welders and customers the company serves throughout the Greater Houston area.
Since joining Welder Testing Inc. in 2015, Spencer Sweeting has been an integral part of the team. With nearly a decade in the company, he focuses primarily on welding procedure development and qualification documentation, ensuring compliance with industry standards. As a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI), Spencer brings extensive welding and inspection expertise to the table, helping to refine and uphold rigorous testing protocols. While he still assists with welder qualification testing, his primary role is in developing procedures and maintaining documentation that supports both welders and quality control personnel.
As the primary point of contact for welder qualification testing at Welder Testing Inc., Adam Cobb ensures that each welder is properly signed in and assigned the correct certification test. With a background as a welder before transitioning into quality control and inspection, Adam brings firsthand industry experience to his role. Now an AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI), he works closely with customers to determine their specific qualification needs and provides detailed test information to shop inspectors for administration. Adam’s expertise, attention to detail, and customer-focused approach make him a key liaison between welders, quality control teams, and the companies they serve.
With over 35 years of experience in the metallurgical field, Alfred Briones brings extensive expertise to Welder Testing Inc.’s Metallurgical Laboratory. As Laboratory Manager, he oversees all metallurgical testing processes, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and quality in every analysis.
